In Vietnam we eat... a lot. Vietnamese are greedy people who appreciate good food.
Each dish has its side dishes. Spicy fish sauce, hot chili sauce, sour green kumquat, garlic and vinegar, and finally scorching bird's eye chili.
Phở, Vietnamese soup served for breakfast. It can be beef (Phở bo), chicken (Phở gà) or even egg
Bánh gối, soft fried pastry filled with noodles and mushrooms.
Bánh cuốn, pancake made from rice flour, rolled up and filled, mainly with minced pork and black mushrooms. It is served with nước mắm (fish sauce).
Coffee with coconut ice cream and Cà Phê Trứng (egg coffee)
Cà Phê Trứng (egg coffee), a discovery that I will surely reproduce at home.
Bánh bao - quail egg stuffed with pork, steamed bread
Bánh mì - submarine
Meals on the go during our long days on the bike
Small dried, crispy and salted fish
Boiled and roasted corn
Bánh tráng trộn, salad made with delicious but mostly unknown ingredients.
After we said we liked chicken, they brought us all these dishes for $5, in a small restaurant by the side of the road.
Grilled ducks
Chả cá - grilled fish with turmeric and dill
Lau - Vietnamese hot pot
In Hanoi, everything happens on the sidewalk, we eat sitting there, on very low stools from which I only get up with the help of a crane or the rescue arm of my companion.
And to finish, a rice beer, of course, in front of an unforgettable landscape.
