Arrival in Cartagenas de Indias - Colombia - Episode 2

Updated: Jul 23, 2022

Cuba, the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, these islands that I fly over, after my departure from Miami, make me dream.

I remember Agent 007’s missions in Havana and Kingston… how exciting.

But it’s an even more exciting country that will welcome me. I can see myself playing the role of Angelina Jolie, in Bogotá, very well.

After a long analysis of the choices available, I chose Colombia, and more specifically Cartagena de Indias. This port city is part of the World Heritage. Founded in 1533 by the conquistador, nothing less, Pedro de Heredia, it had a key role in poor human activities, such as the slave trade and the transit of gold from the looting of the Aztec and Inca empires. It is now the undisputed queen of the Caribbean coast and a superbly preserved historic town.

I am a girl by far preferring the countryside, but I chose to live in a city in order to push my limits… again. I rented a small apartment for the duration of my stay.

This pied-à-terre will allow me to take the time ... the time to integrate into the country, the city and the community, and seize the moment that passes.

My arrival is going really well. The people are welcoming, the city is beautiful and the apartment is as described on AirBnB.

And, the view from my balconies is breathtaking.

Obviously, I have a look at motorcycles ... and I come across this bicycle with a motor, perfect for short hikes ... if the backfires don't bother you.
